Internship Program (incl. English Course and Workplace Preparation)

This course combines an English course with an internship placement. You have to do a minimum of 5 weeks of English language courses before starting the internship which can be up to 52 weeks long. The English course prior to your internship will follow the curriculum of the English for International Business Communication (EIBC). EIBC has been specially designed to teach you the knowledge, language and technical skills needed to work more confidently and accurately in the international business environment. Preparation for the workplace (PWE) is a component of the English course prior to your internship. Together with EIBC this give you confidence and prepare you thoroughly for entering an Australian workplace.

After completion of the English component you will receive:
  • A Certificate of Proficiency in English for International Business Communication
  • A Certificate of Workplace Preparation

Business and Economics
Monash business education is in high demand worldwide because it develops leaders with knowledge and expertise across a broad range of disciplines that have immediate value in the workplace. Drawing on strong links with its alumni and the business community and incorporating the high-ranking Monash MBA, the Business and Economics portfolio includes an extensive array of undergraduate degrees, specialised graduate programs and higher degrees by research.

We harness the many intellectual resources at Monash University to shape individual business education for students so they can prosper in an ever changing business environment.

The Faculty of Business and Economics is Australia's largest university faculty. It has the scale and diversity to offer students a wide and integrated selection of business courses, supported by first class teaching and research.

Law
Monash Law is one of the largest and most prestigious law schools in Australia providing legal education and training to over 2700 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Increasingly, law is seen as one of the most valuable generalist degrees, providing a solid foundation for a range of careers. As a result law graduates enjoy a higher rate of employment than graduates from almost every other discipline.

The quality of the law school is reflected in our alumni, many of whom hold prominent positions around the world both inside and outside of the legal profession. In Victoria alone, Monash law graduates hold some of the most senior judicial positions in this State including the Chief Justice of Victoria, the Chief Magistrate of Victoria, Chief Judge of the County Court, President of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Chief Magistrate of the Victorian Children’s Court, as well as the Victorian Solicitor-General and State Coroner.

The place to live and study

Monash University has six campuses in and around the city of Melbourne, Victoria. All campuses are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and each campus has it own unique study environment:

Berwick campus
Location: Clyde Road, Berwick (40km from Melbourne CBD)

As a Berwick student, you will enjoy an intimate university campus, with the benefits of a large, well-established university. Berwick campus offers courses in arts, communication, business, tourism, multimedia and multimedia computing. Berwick campus is well equipped with state of the art facilities. The university's School of Multimedia Systems is located at Berwick as is the Monash Tourism Research Unit.

Caulfield campus

Caulfield campus has a vibrant metropolitan feel with cafes, restaurants, bars and retail outlets on campus and nearby. As the second largest Monash campus, Caulfield features an extensive range of visual arts, educational and sporting facilities, and has well-established links with industry, government and the local community. Within Australia, Caulfield campus has a fine reputation for providing outstanding training for senior business people.

Clayton campus

Clayton campus is the University’s largest campus. The campus offers a bustling atmosphere with shops, cafes, medicals services and cinema. Gippsland campus
Location: Northways Road, Churchill (170km from Melbourne CBD)

Gippsland campus offers a supportive and caring learning environment. The campus combines the prestige of Australia's largest university with the advantages of a unique rural setting. For both living and studying, at Gippsland, you can enjoy a low-cost environment. There are numerous outdoor recreation opportunities. Off campus activities include winter skiing and snowboarding less than an hour to the north. There is swimming and boating less than an hour to the south. Nearby, there is trekking and climbing in rugged national parks, and an excellent golf course. On campus, there is a fully equipped recreation centre.

Parkville campus
Location: 381 Royal Parade, Parkville (2km from Melbourne CBD)

Faculty: Pharmacy

Enjoying a prestigious 125-year history, the Victorian College of Pharmacy is the only campus that is also a complete faculty in itself. Surrounded by parkland, the campus is located on the doorstep of the city with easy access to shops, restaurants, markets, entertainment and sporting and recreational facilities.

Peninsula campus
Location: McMahon’s Road, Frankston (41km from Melbourne CBD)

With a strong track record of multidisciplinary courses, specialist research and community interaction, Peninsula campus provides a caring and supportive learning environment for its students. Tuition fees and intakes

Monash University 2007 fees range from A$16,500-38,000 per year. The fee for study abroad students in 2007 is A$9,950 per semester. Depending on the course there are two intakes per year: February and July.
