Through this alliance, UQ students have participated in events such as the Summer School program in Mexico, Undergraduate Research Conference in Japan and the Social Entrepreneurship program in Guatemala.

The UQ Advantage Award program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to realise their aspirations and enhance their research, leadership and cultural communication skills to ensure they are competitive in the employment market. It combines participation in a range of co-curricular activities across three core categories – Global and Cultural Engagement, Research and Entrepreneurship and Social Responsibility and Leadership – and will give you access to a unique symposium series.

In addition to flexibility in program choice, UQ students also benefit from the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of extracurricular activities during their studies. There are study abroad opportunities to more than 185 partner institutions in 41 countries and access to more than 190 clubs and societies, as well as sports and cultural facilities.

UQ has three campuses in and around Brisbane, the capital city of the state of Queensland. It is the third largest city in Australia, after Sydney and Melbourne, and it has a multicultural population of around two million.

It has all the advantages of a large modern city, yet it retains the friendliness and charm of a small regional town. In the 2013 ‘Australia’ edition of the Lonely Planet travel guidebook, Brisbane was named as Australia’s coolest city.

With campuses based in and around the city of Brisbane, you will enjoy a diverse community of over 50,000 students, including over 11,000 international students from 140 different countries across the globe.
